Jaffna’s Lahiru Madushanka unleashed a career best unbeaten 178, 112 of which 19 boundaries and 6 sixes assault on Galle in a mammoth second innings total of 555 for 8 wickets for an overall lead of 427 on the fourth day of their Sri Lanka Cricket National Super League 2023 encounter at the Galle International Cricket Stadium on Saturday. The 30-year old tall and lanky fast bowling all-rounder, a product of St. Thomas’ College, Matale, converted his overnight 6 into an onslaught on a hapless Galle attack on all fours as Jaffna piled up a record 336 in a run avalanche in compensating for the 130 first innings debacle.after Galle had totalled 257. Avishka Tharindu was unbeaten on 62 off 114 inclusive of 4 boundaries.
