Sri Lanka Under 19s tour UAE under Daniel’s captaincy

Sri Lanka Under 19 will compete against Afghanistan and Bangladesh in a Tri-Nation Youth tournament in Abu Dhabi, UAE under the captaincy of St. Joseph’s all-rounder Shevon Daniel.

Except for Daniel, Treveen Mathew and Theeraka Ranathunga all other players in the 15-member squad are eligible to play in the next Youth World Cup.

Richmond College all-rounder Malsha Tharupathi who played in the last Youth World Cup is among the experienced members in the squad.

However, Tharupathi, Royal College player Sineth Jayawardena and Mahinda College Galle player Dinura Kalupahana are not leaving the island with the rest of the squad on March 15 as Sri Lanka Cricket has made exemptions for them to take part in their respective Big Matches.

Of the 15 players, three are from St. Joseph’s College, Darley Road, while there are two from Trinity.

Sri Lanka Under 19 team: Shevon Daniel (Captain), Hirun Kapurubandara, Malsha Tharupathi, Dinura Kalupahana, Sineth Jayawardena, Vihas Thewmika, Vishen Halambage, Hiran Jayasundara, Traveen Mathew, Theeraka Ranathunga, Vishva Lahiru, Duvindu Ranatunga, Manula Kularathne, Garuka Sanketh, Vishwa Rajapaksa.
