Hasaranga magic takes B-Love Kandy to top of the table from naught

If Colombo Strikers Babar Azam succeeded in galvanising the Lanka Premier League into full throttle by his record century as the tournament run up switched from Colombo to the hill terrain of Pallekelle, it was local all-round hero Wanindu Hasaranga de Silva who stole the show in the final countdown in lifting bottom of the table B-Love Kandy from that slumber right to the top of the points table.
Following the Pallekelle leg of the Tournament, Kandy who had languished with zeros points at the start of the tournament, had shifted the scales to wresting control at the top with 6 points from three straight wins from five games on faster net run rate of + 0.498 with Dambulla Aura lying second with 6 points from three wins from 5 at net run rate of + 0.364. Conspicuously reigning champion Jaffna Kings which roared at the start, have been pushed back to third position on faster run rate with 6 points from 3 wins and 3 matches on ner run rate of +0.288 whilst Colombo Strikers are bottom of the table with 4 points with two wins from 5 having lost 3.
Full marks to Wanindu Hasaranga de Silva who indeed has profuced sturdy leading from the front captaincy stuff by virtual single handed showmanship with bat and ball. His blitzkrieg 64 off 27 and 4 for 17 was out of this world stuff in downing Galle Tirana by 89 runs on the strength of 203 for 5.
