SSC were pushed to the peril of 50 for 6 by Nugegoda S&WC before finally prevailing by six runs under the D/L for their fifth successive win on the trot in a game the return of Danushka Gunathilaka to the fold did not provide the sparkle the left-hander is known for in their SLC Major Club Limited Over Tournament fixture at their home grounds yesterday. SSC wriggled through to 152 off 41.5 overs, thanks to a 65-run ninth wicket partnership between Nuwanidu Fernando who made 50 and Nisala Tharaka 43, before nailing Nugegoda S&WC to 125 for 7 in 37 overs in a weather marred end.

In a similar scenario Nugegoda crashed to 34 for 5 by the 12th over, but the 79-run sixth wicket bonding Kevin Perera (55) and Ranitha Liyanarachchi (39 n.o.) fell short by 5 runs short of the revised D/L target of 132.

Meanwhile, Sebastianites C&AC upset the more fancied Tamil Union by five wickets at the P. Saravanamuththu International Stadium.

Panadura SC getting the better of Army SC by 2 wickets, and Badureliya CC downing BRC by 76 were also noteworthy features.
