Shashika Dulshan took the week-end’s honours claiming 6 for 99 in spinning Jaffna to a comprehensive 165-run run win over Kandy in the Sri Lanka Cricket National Super League 4-Day Tournament fixture at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Hambantota. Chasing 394 runs to win Kandy was dismissed for 229.

Meanwhile, Dambulla got the better of Colombo despite a marathon 161 century by Dimuth Karunaratne in a high scoring game at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium which saw another during the week-end which produced centuries from another former national captain Angelo Mathews who scored 146, Pavan Rathnayaka 130 and Kamindu Mendis 115 with the latter’s performance gaining the nod of the national selectors in a long run of impressive showings to been named in the squad for the first test against Afghanistan starting tomorrow.
