Minimum daily wage for plantation workers increased to Rs. 1,700
The minimum daily wage for plantation workers has been increased to Rs. 1,700 through a gazette notice.
A gazette extraordinary issued by the Department of Labour states that the minimum wage in the Tea Growing and Manufacturing Trade has been revised.
Meanwhile, President Ranil Wickremesinghe said the wage increment will come into effect from today (May 01).
