Special Weather Bulletin issued by the Natural Hazards Early Warning Centre at 12.00 p.m. on 16 May 2024, for the next week. 

                                                                        PLEASE BE AWARE!

Showery and windy conditions are expected to enhance during the next few days due to pre-monsoonal conditions over the country and surrounding sea areas.

Heavy rainfalls are likely over the South-western parts of the country particularly in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-western provinces and in Galle, Matara and Mannar districts.

Strong winds about (60-70) kmph accompanied with heavy rainfalls are likely over the sea areas around the country and over the sea area bounded by (0-10)N (60-90)E.

General public, Fishing and naval community are requested to be attentive to future forecasts issued by the Department of Meteorology in this regard.
