Malaysian investors ready for investment in Sri Lanka
Malaysian investors are willing to undertake massive investments in several spheres in Sri Lanka.
The Malaysian investors expressed this willingness during a meeting with Minister Basil Rajapaka. The delegation headed by President of the Malaysian National Chamber of Commerce and Industries Dato Saed Ali Altas had a meeting with the Minister. Several leading Malaysian investors joined in this meeting.
The Malaysian National Chamber of Commerce and Industries is an organization formed with the involvement of five chamber and industries organizations of the Private Sector. The Malaysian investors have expressed willingness to invest in land development, construction, information technology, agriculture and fisheries sectors in Sri Lanka. The investments are due to be undertaken in affiliation to the Colombo and Hambantota Harbours.
Minister Basil Rajapaksa, during the meeting, pointed out that economic cooperation between Sri Lanka and Malaysia remained at a high level. Sri Lanka was advancing in the tourism industry. The Minister told the Malaysian delegation that many Tourism Zones were successfully operating within the island.
Dato Saed Ali Altas mentioned that they could easily engage in the production of goods in Sri Lanka through the assembly of parts.
