Minister Susil Premajayantha has said that the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) is ready to face the polls with strong confidence. The Minister who is also the General Secretary of the Freedom Alliance made this reference after talks the party secretaries had with the Elections Chief this evening.
The Minister said that there are 19 registered political parties within the Freedom Alliance. Initial talks have been concluded with these constituent parties. The final decision will be taken before the 12th of this month and thereafter conclude the candidacies of the constituent parties.
He pointed out that their talks have been held very successfully. As such, he added that the Freedom Alliance is fully confident of securing a landslide victory in all the three Provincial Councils.
