Landslide warning for Kandy, N’Eliya and Kegalle districts

Residents in landslide prone areas in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and Kegalle districts and motorists should be vigilant as there is a high landslide risk with heavy monsoonal rains, Disaster Management Centre (DMC) warned.

According to a DMC official, the Nuwara Eliya-Hatton road has been blocked due to a landslide near Kuda-Oya.

The Meteorology Department forecasted heavy showers in Western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in the Kurunegala district.
