Final Kandy and Kataragama Peraheras parade streets

The final Randoli Perahera of the historic Kandy Esala Festival is now in progress.

The fourth Randoli Perahera paraded the streets last night. The Perahera which proceeded along Dalada Veediya, Yatinuwara Veediya, Cross Street, Kotugodella Street, Hill Street, D.S. Senanayake Street, Raja Veediya, returned to the Maligawa. The final Randoli Perahera commenced at the auspicious time of 8.24 p.m.
In the meantime, the final Perahera of the Kataragama Esala Festival is also parading the streets.
The 13th Perahera of the Kataragama Esala Festival paraded the streets last night. The final Perahera is being held under the patronage of the Basnayake Nilame Sashindra Rajapaksa. The Perahera is proceeding from the Kataragama Devale to Kirivehera. The Perahera will end after it returns to the Maha Devale along the main street.
