Iran tests upgraded short range ballistic missile
Iran said yesterday it has successfully test-fired an upgraded version of a short-range ballistic missile with improved accuracy, increasing the country’s capability to strike both land and naval targets. Iranian Defence Minister, General Ahmad Vahidi, said the solid-fuelled Fateh-110 missile has a range of 300 kilometres. The Pentagon released a report in June noting significant advances in Iranian missile technology, acknowledging that the Islamic Republic had improved the accuracy and firing capabilities of its missiles. Iran insists its program is for peaceful purposes.
