International community should consider results of Eastern Provincial Council says Dallas

Minister Dallas Alahapperuma has said that the people in the North-central, Sabaragamuva and Eastern provinces have given a proper reply in order to strengthen the future journey of the country.

He expressed the gratitude of the government for the people’s support. The Minister said that the people went to vote at a time when serious conditions were placed before the country. He said that the government had called on the local and overseas opposition groups to consider the election as a referendum. He called on the international community to specially consider the results of the Eastern Provincial Council. He said that at a time when communal passions were being roused 75 percent of the Tamil speaking people in the Eastern Province voted against such ideals. He said that in world politics a situation such as this where people continuously place their confidence in a leader and a ruling party is rare.
