Court endorses Z-score solution
The Supreme Court has endorsed the implementation of the proposal submitted by the University Grants Commission to admit 5609 additional students to Universities to solve the Z-score fiasco.
When the petition concerned was taken up today, the University Grants Commission said that an additional 5609 students can be admitted to Universities to solve the issue. It will be in addition to the normal intake of 21,500.
The three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Dr. Shirani announced that this could minimize the hindrances caused to the students. At the same time, the Supreme Court also recommended the Government to consider granting an opportunity for the students who had sat the examination for the third time and were impacted by the issue to sit again.
