IUSF convenor arrested

The convener of the Inter University Students Federation has been arrested on charges of damaging public property and encouraging violence in between a demonstration in Colombo Fort.

The Colombo Crimes Division apprehended the convenor of the Inter University Students Federation Sanjeeva Bandara. The Inter University Students Federation organized a protest campaign opposite the Colombo fort Railway Station this afternoon. It was held obstructing the roads and hindering the public. He is to face charges of assault, inciting violence and damage to public property during the protest.
