Intelligence has revealed of a conspiracy launched to overthrow the government through the struggle of the University Academics. There is information that the Opposition which has split, the NGO group and the Tamil Diaspora are behind this conspiracy.
The University Dons launched a strike three months ago based on several demands including a pay hike. The group including the President of the University Teachers Union Nirmal Ranjith Devasiri concluded a walk which started from Galle, in Colombo yesterday taking a step forward in their Union action. When the walk which started from Galle after religious observances ended in Colombo, it totally became a walk of the United National Party, the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna and the Frontline group.
It was seen last afternoon as to how those who joined in the walk shouted slogans of projecting the image of opposition politicians and leaders who was not aware of the problems of the University academics. Several University Dons withdrew by yesterday accusing Devasiri of betraying their Union action to the Opposition and anti-Government groups. Intelligence sleuths had already uncovered information of a conspiracy that is in place to topple the Government via these demonstrations.
A key figure of the Diaspora who had secured Australian citizenship and a leader of the Frontline Party Kumar Gunaratnam is serving as the mastermind of this conspiracy. Reports emanating from abroad have confirmed that Nirmal Ranjith Devasiri, the President of the University Teachers Union who is working to seek permanent residency in Australia is conspiring with the Gunaratnam Group.
The Inter University Students Federation which has become a cat’s paw of the Frontline Group is also contributing to this plot. Informed sources have revealed that several Dons of the University Teachers Union including Devasiri, who are steering this conspiracy had received a monthly allowance through an NGO which is operated by the Diaspora. One of their basic aims is to drag the undergraduates as well as the school children for their street slogans.
Intelligence sleuths have also uncovered that certain factions of the UNP and the JVP have become stakeholders. Nirmal Ranjith Devasiri who had direct links for some time with several NGOs representing an “X” Group is crafting plans of the conspiracy while it is revealed of a plan by a Diaspora for some University Dons involved in the struggle to get political asylum in several countries including Australia.
A majority of University Dons linked to the union action have decided to maintain silence after the conspiracy by Devasiri and the Ven. Dambara Amila Thera to betray the union struggle to defeated politicos had been revealed. Accordingly, internal University sources have revealed that a majority of the University teachers are gearing to conduct lectures withdrawing from their Union action within the next few days.
