Prepaid cards are compulsory for the buses in Western province
The chairman of the Western province road transport authority Amila Ranmandala says that the prepaid card systems is compulsory for the buses in the Western province with effect from 01st September.
There are around 630 private buses in the Western province and out of them and the prepaid cards are already used in Avissawella – Colombo and Maharagama – Pettah routs.
The bus owners say that there won’t be conflict between the passengers and the conductors and they will get the due income but, it is said that some conductors do not like this system.
