The CSR Society of SJMS Associates together with Success Colombo and the Sri Lanka Army,62 Division, Galkulama, Padavi-Sripura, have once again come to the aid of the people affected by prolonged drought in areas in Padavi-Sripura, with timely distribution of emergency relief.
The livelihood of most of these families is chena cultivation. These families have been unable to cultivate since last December and are thereby left with no source of income. Whist facing economic hardships they are also forced to face acute water and food shortages.

The Society organised the distribution of dry rations to 250 families in Veherathanne. Subsequently, they proceeded to areas such as Kohombawewa, Kambi-liwewa, Kongaswewa and Veherawewa, where water was distributed to a large number of families through many bowsers. The society even extended the distribution of water to very rural areas such as Athawetunawewa, Kiribanawewa and Mona-rawewa, where 345 families were provided with water. These families were also provided with 670 large water cans in order to facilitate the distribution of water.
Sincere gratitude is extended to Success Colombo and the Sri Lanka Army, 62 Division, for their immense support in completing yet another program successfully.
