From budget 2015 the prices of cars and vans reduced
From the budget proposals of year 2015 all taxes of customs have been removed and a new special tax imported.Accordingly the prices of imported cars would be reduced by 20-25% while those of vans would be reduced by 25-60%.This was revealed by the Deputy Secretary of the Finance Ministry.
The Deputy Secretary S.R Attygalle had said that these taxes are effective from midnight yesterday.Cars with engines less than 1000 cc the tax of 202% has been reduced to 173%.With the special customs tax the prices will be reduced by 29%.While for vans imported the special tax has been reduced from 175% to 100%.For vans with 13-20 seats the special tax has been reduced from 126% to 100%.
