The Navy shares a proud history with the DSG winning its joint championship in 2010 and becoming the overall champions in 2012.

The Defence Services Games are held every two years enabling tri-forces personnel to showcase their sporting talents. The event paves the way for them to compete in true spirit of sportsmanship, promoting camaraderie and friendship. It enhances relations among the three sister services and helps forge new bonds, connecting like-minded personnel on a common platform. The games have grown in stature over the years, adding more sports disciplines to the competition.

Defence Services Games 2014 is the 08th edition of the country’s premier defence sporting event. Competitions in 36 sports disciplines commenced on 06th September 2013 with the keen participation of sportsmen and women representing the Army, the Navy and the Air Force.

A keen tussle is expected for the supremacy to lay claims to the coveted championship at the finals scheduled for 05th November at the Sugathadasa Stadium. The very best will be crowned for their excellence in performance and true spirit in sportsmanship at a colourful prize awarding ceremony.
