second consecutive year reinforces country’s strengths as a leading IT/BPM destination
Sri Lanka won the National Outsourcing Association (NOA) Offshoring Destination of the Year Award 2014 for the second time, validating that the country is a leading destination for outsourcing of information technology and Business Process Management.
In BPM, finance and accounting is a global niche, whilst product engineering in IT is a core competence for the nation. The quality of service provided in these niches has contributed immensely to the IT/BPM industry’s growth from revenue of $ 213 m in 2007 to $ 720 m in 2014.
The National Outsourcing Association Awards (NOAAs) took place on 20 November at the Marriot Hotel in London. NOAAs, now in its 11th year, recognises and celebrates the efforts of companies and destinations that have demonstrated best-practice in outsourcing.

National Outsourcing Association CEO, Kerry Hallard said:  “Now in its 11th year, NOA Awards brought together more than 400 outsourcing professionals to celebrate the many successes in the industry. Once again we received a record number of entries with strong submissions from many of the industry’s key providers, as well as entries from an increasing number of new players. The standard of submissions showed a growing display of innovation and business transformation through outsourcing. We would like to congratulate our winners and all those that were shortlisted.”
“I’m proud to have Sri Lanka recognised with a second award as a destination for offshoring businesses. The award itself is a testimony to the exceptional quality being offered from Sri Lanka,” said Jayantha De Silva, Chairman of SLASSCOM.
Being shortlisted for the European Outsourcing Association (EOA) Offshoring Destination of the Year Award 2014 and winning this award for two years in a row has put Sri Lanka on the map, especially in niche markets of Product Engineering and FAO.
The NOA is the leading association serving both the outsourcing professional and the global outsourcing industry.  The organisations vision is to grow the size and positive reputation of the outsourcing industry and the mission is to be both the home and global ambassador of world class outsourcing.

SLASSCOM acts as a catalyst of growth of the Sri Lankan IT and BPO industry by facilitating trade and business, propagation of education and employment, encouragement of research and innovation, and by supporting the creation of a progressive national policy framework.
