CID arrests Wele Suda's Main Agent
The main agent of the drug kingpin Wele Suda was arrested, Police Media Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said on Monday (02).
The suspect Surash Ahamed from Ratnakara Place, Dehiwala was arrested while hiding in a chena in Habarana on Sunday (01). Ahamed is purportedly the custodian of Wele Suda's properties and accounts. The police have also seized a jeep valued at Rs. 2 million belonging to Wele Suda.
Investigations have revealed that Ahmad who was the main agent of Wele Suda had distributed drugs around the country and has maintained his accounts, assets and properties in Sri Lanka, SSP Rohana said.
Ahmed who was produced before the Colombo Magistrate's Court will be questioned for the next seven days about his agents, past activities and connection with Wele Suda. SSP Rohana said investigations are sill in progress and the police will investigate all issues related to Wele Suda and those involved will be brought before the law.
