With Christmas less than a week away, we highlight what some of our popular figures have to say about Christmas 2023…yes, their Wishes for Christmas 2023.

*  Merlina Fernando (Singer):

My Christmas wish this year is a little different to any other year as our people went through a lot throughout the past few years. I wish this Christmas Season brings Peace to all those who suffered immensely, as well as the gift of Love, Prosperity, Happiness and Joy.

Merry Christmas to every Sri Lankan, and a Peaceful New Year.

*  Sohan Weerasinghe (Singer):

I hope our people will get a nice bonus this Christmas and they will have a joyful season. I also wish that all the wars that our raging in the Middle East and in Ukraine will end peacefully soon. Yes, let 2024 be a much better year than 2023.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

*  Maneka Liyanage (Model, Beauty):

My wish for this Christmas is that everyone would have the opportunity to celebrate Christmas 2023 in a very special way. The going is tough, no doubt, but if peace prevails then celebrations, even in a small way, would be possible.

I wish everyone, especially the readers of my favourite newspaper, The Island, a Wonderful Christmas and a New Year full of pleasant surprises.

* Kay Jay (Singer):

I would love to see people living in harmony, living a peaceful life, no fighting, no wars, that there would be peace around the world, that people have food on their tables, also to see all happy and joyful .

I mainly wish that the wars in the Middle East and in Ukraine and Israel will end soon.

I also wish there won’t be any lonely people around, that all have their families and friends to support them in time of need.

May God bless everyone with love, peace, joy and prosperity.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2024.

*  Shareefa Thahir (Radio/TV)

This festive season, my hope is for Christmas 2023 to be a time of profound connection and giving. Let the spirit of sharing flourish, creating a tapestry of kindness that uplifts the spirits of everyone, fostering a sense of togetherness and love.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone.

*  JPal (Singer):

I wish 2023 Christmas will be a much better Christmas, than all thr past ones, for my fellow Sri Lankans. We have suffered enough, especially the last Christmas.

May the people have peace of mind, cash in hand, and goods in stores to have a wonderful time to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Let’s also pray for the victims of wars and the innocent children who suffer most.

May you all have a Wonderful, Peaceful and a Joyful Christmas.

*  Chulpadmendra Kumarapathirana (Model):

For Christmas, I’d wish for a world where kindness and understanding prevail, fostering peace among nations and communities. And finding the true spirit of Christmas involves more than just the exchange of gifts. It’s about fostering genuine connections, showing empathy towards others, and embracing a sense of community. It’s in the small acts of kindness, the warmth of shared moments, and the joy of giving without expecting anything in return. This Christmas, I hope people immerse themselves in the deeper meaning of the season, creating lasting memories rooted in love and understanding.

Merry Christmas and a Peaceful New Year.

* Cherrie Chamari (Singer):

May all that is beautiful, meaningful, bring you full of light and laughter, peace of mind, good will, and happiness at Christmas, and always. Cherish your moments and count your blessings.

Merry Christmas everyone.

*  Andrea Marr (Singer):

My Christmas wish would be for peace to be reached and a future created for those in war-torn countries. That there would be hope and those who have a lot would generously give to those who have nothing.

Merry Christmas and a Peaceful 2024

* Esric Jackson (Singer):

Wishing all my family members and friends around the world a Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year. May this Christmas be extra special, especially to all the folks in my land of birth – Sri Lanka.

And, we, at ‘Star Track’, take this opportunity to wish our readers a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Let’s hope 2024 will be a good year for all of us.
