Three members of NMRA step down
Three out of 11 members of the National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA), resigned yesterday (13).
Sources said that Supul Wijesinghe and Dr. Priyantha Serasinghe and controversial Attorney-at-Law Manoj Gamage had tendered their resignations.
This was consequent to the arrest and remanding of former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, and ex-Health Secretary Janaka Chandragupta over the ongoing investigation into the procurement of fake human immunoglobulin last year.
The remaining board members are Dr. Ananda Wijewickrema, Dr. Saveen Semage, Dr. Kosala Karunaratne, Dr. Asela Gunawardena, M.M. Chathura Parakrama Mohottigedara, Dr. Pradeep Kumarasinghe de Silva, Dr. Banukie Jayasuriya and Dr. Duminda Ariyaratne.
